(Just like how the back cover of the original cover says, "My touch is lethal" crossed out, and "My touch is power" written as a new sentence." The most important moral or lesson was that your flaws don't describe you, your strengths do. This book teaches the reader that it's alright to be different from the crowd, to accept yourself, to be brave and stand up for yourself, to keep trying no matter what and don't give up. The book ends with Juliette finding a better way to protect herself from others than locking herself away from everyone, which was a protective suit that shielded others from her touch. But once others, like Adam, started to accept her for her powers and her personality, Juliette realizes that this is what makes her different from the others, and accepts herself in the end. In the past, Juliette always tried to change herself, tried to get rid of her power. In this book, Juliette not only is accepted by others around her, but learns to accept herself for who she is. Juliette also said many times how many things love makes you do that you never thought you would do, like run away with Adam. They met again after 3 years, and went through many obstacles together, and complimented each others strengths and weaknesses. It means that love has a way of finding each other, and that was what happened with Adam and Juliette. You're the only good thing left in the world."Īdam also was a brave person to go and be friends with Juliette at a young age even when everyone else didn't. As she reunites with Adam, she learns to believe in herself a lot more as Adam is caring and encouraging to her, like, " God, Juliette. They call her a monster, but Juliette always believed she was more than that. Juliette learns to believe in herself even when everyone around her doesn't. She was brave for not getting upset at her classmates for treating her bad, and helping them, but also brave for finally standing up for her own good. The reader learns that courage is not only being brave in dangerous situations, but being kind to others even when they are cruel to you. She learns to think straight and keep calm, even when she has the right to be angry.
